Water Conservation Scheme
After the 2002 drought, residents of Taiwan suddenly realized that the greater Taipei area, with the best living level in Taiwan, also faces embarrassing and pressing water shortage. Therefore, TWD has gone beyond pipeline replacement to control leakage and establish water reserve capacity, has involved in promoting the concept of water saving, and complete green water supply schemes.
Since 2007, TWD has distributed water saving filters to households freely, helping each household to save at least NT$100 on their annual water bill
.
TWD has also published and distributed Handbook of Water Use to 4th graders of elementary school in
Taipei City.
Users can access TWD’s website to make all applications and gradually reducing the user number of paying in counter to 2% annually.
TWD has feedback users with the saved postage from the electronic bills or 2 free tickets of the Taipei Water Park
. Notably,
Water Resources Education Hall in Taipei Water Park attracts 500, 000 visitors per year.
